About this award

The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration awarded the South Carolina Department of Public Safety $1,213,420 on December 1, 2025, under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance High Priority Activities Grants and Cooperative Agreements program (CFDA 20.237) to support operations and maintenance of the state's Commercial Vehicle Information Systems and Networks (CVIEW) platform and E-Screening Technologies.

The award funds two operational projects. Project 2 maintains South Carolina's core compliance status within the Innovative Technology Deployment program and enables timely service to the motor carrier industry by sustaining CVIEW operations, which allows the state to share critical safety information with other states and the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration and provides law enforcement officers with trusted data sources for enforcement decisions. Project 3 supports operations and maintenance of E-Screening Technologies to preserve the state's core compliant status and enable identification and enforcement targeting of high-risk carriers. The E-Screening tools provide readily available safety and credentialing information to improve motor carrier and commercial motor vehicle operator safety and productivity, with the goal of reducing commercial motor vehicle-related collisions and fatalities.

The period of performance runs through September 30, 2030. Work is performed in South Carolina.
