The U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration (ETA) awarded Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo a $718,847 Project Grant under the Native American Employment and Training Program (CFDA 17.265) effective July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2028. The grant funds comprehensive employment and training services for unemployed and underemployed American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals within the service area. Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo will deliver three primary service categories: career services to prepare participants for unsubsidized employment and self-sufficiency; occupational training services aligned with the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA); and follow-up support services, including counseling and job retention assistance, for up to 12 months following participant exit.
The grantee will focus on developing participants' academic, occupational, and literacy skills while equipping them with entrepreneurial capabilities for self-employment and supporting occupational development and upward mobility. Performance outcomes tracked against federal standards include employment rates in the second and fourth quarters following exit, median earnings in the second quarter after exit, credential attainment, skill gains, and services to employers. The grant involves minimal subrecipient activity, with Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo providing direct service delivery within its designated service area.
