This $227,476 Project Grant was awarded by the U.S. Department of Labor's Employment and Training Administration under the Native American Employment and Training program (CFDA 17.265). The grant will support employment and training services for American Indian, Alaska Native, and Native Hawaiian individuals to develop their academic, occupational, and literacy skills, enhance their workforce competitiveness, and promote economic and social development within their communities. Key services to be provided include career services to prepare participants for unsubsidized employment, follow-up counseling and supportive services, and training activities designed to improve participants' workforce readiness. The award was made to the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation, a federally recognized tribal government in Washington state, to deliver these services directly without significant sub-award activities. The project will run from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2027.
