The Oregon State Library was awarded a $2.9 million Formula Grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the Grants to States program (CFDA 45.310) on April 8, 2021 to help communities respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and related needs through equitable digital inclusion and library services. The funding will support the State Library's five-year strategic plan goals and be used by the State Library as well as 17 sub-awardees to increase access to technology, materials, programs and services in libraries and communities across Oregon through March 31, 2023. Specific initiatives include bookmobiles, wifi hotspots, digital resources, social services support in libraries, cultural programs, accessibility improvements, and outreach to underserved groups. Sub-awardees range from local libraries and schools to social services organizations.
