About this award
The U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service (DOI FWS) Region 6 awarded $488,165.33 to the State of Utah, Division of Wildlife Resources under the Wildlife Restoration and Basic Hunter Education and Safety program (CFDA 15.611) to rehabilitate the Lee Kay 100 Yard Target Pit for the Big Bore Range. The grant, awarded January 1, 2026 with completion targeted for December 31, 2026, funds critical infrastructure improvements to this facility originally constructed in 1980. The project deliverables include upgrading the drainage system, extending the pit length, modernizing the target system, pouring a new concrete floor, constructing an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) compliant ramp, and extending the berm to accommodate the expanded facility footprint.
