Description

The tract directly adjoins the WMA on both its north and south sides closing a GAP in connectivity. The tract would be added to the most publicly utilized WMA in the state to support public access for hunting and other wildlife associated recreational purposes. The acquisition will allow for improvement of existing habitat conditions which will be beneficial for popular game species such as white tailed deer wild turkey and rabbit on the WMA. The property will be protected from potential conversion of wildlife habitat to alternative land uses. The tract is directly accessible from highway 57 and a county road (berry road). Within the tract is a good road and trail system to further facilitate user access.
