About this award
Federal Grant Award Summary
The State of Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife (ODFW), operating as the Salem Region Office, received a formula grant award of $273,773 from the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 1 under the Wildlife Restoration and Basic Hunter Education and Safety program (CFDA 15.611) for the performance period of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2026. This grant supports ODFW's wildlife habitat protection, maintenance, and enhancement efforts within the Umpqua Watershed District, serving Coos and Douglas counties in Oregon. The funding enables the agency to pursue collaborative habitat improvement projects with multiple public and private landowners and stakeholders.
The grant resources are allocated toward four primary objectives: protecting, maintaining, and enhancing wildlife habitats across various land ownerships within the district; encouraging other agencies and private landowners to enhance wildlife habitats on their managed properties; maintaining the facilities, structures, and equipment necessary for the district's wildlife habitat program administration; and administering habitat program activities and district-wide wildlife operations. These activities reflect the broader mission of the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act to restore, conserve, manage, and enhance wild birds, mammals, and their habitats while supporting public access to wildlife resources.
