About this award
The Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 6 awarded the Colorado Division of Parks and Wildlife $252,000 under the Wildlife Restoration and Basic Hunter Education and Safety Formula Grant program (CFDA 15.611) to construct a new shop building at the Andrick Ponds State Wildlife Area in northeast Colorado. The new facility will allow CPW to store equipment and materials onsite rather than transporting items 45 miles from another property for projects. Having a dedicated storage building is expected to reduce costs associated with loading, hauling, mileage, tool maintenance, and upkeep of multiple properties. Completion is slated for June 30, 2024.
Description
There is currently no storage facility at andrick ponds SWA to store equipment or materials. Currently, equipment is stored at the hillrose SWA shop, which is 45 miles east of andrick. That means anytime equipment is needed for projects at andrick, mobilizing IT is an exhaustive, time consuming process. This onsite building will reduce costs and time in loading, hauling, mileage, tools, implement costs, and costs of maintaining both properties.
