About this award

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) received a $19.16 million Formula Grant award from the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) under the Motor Carrier Safety Assistance Program (MCSAP) for the period of October 1, 2021 through September 30, 2024. MCSAP provides funding to States to reduce crashes and hazardous materials incidents involving commercial motor vehicles through consistent, uniform, and effective commercial motor vehicle safety programs. WisDOT will use the grant funding to support its motor carrier safety programs, which work to reduce commercial motor vehicle-related crashes and ensure commercial motor vehicle compliance with federal safety regulations. As the State of Wisconsin's governor's office is identified as the parent organization of WisDOT, it is presumed WisDOT will administer the MCSAP grant funding on behalf of the State to deliver the motor carrier safety programs and services outlined under the MCSAP federal grant program guidelines during the award period.
