Description
- Intended beneficiaries
- Many reclaimed areas in southeastern ohio previously owned either by utility and mining companies are being transferred to private ownership, with new landowners looking to transform areas into working landscapes such as homesteads, pastures, and rangeland. An understanding of how resoil material impacts ensuing soil properties and the composition and functioning of biotic communities established on reclaimed mine land is critical to inform beneficial management and use of reclaimed areas. Additionally, our results can inform best practices for practitioners who will undertake future reclamations of AML and remined land.
