Description

The project will identify relationships between intertidal (algal and invertebrate) community structure and local environmental parameters (elevation, topography) to identify potential community drivers such as climate change. The project will develop and conduct community trend analyses of intertidal data sets to evaluate changes over time and space. The outcomes from the analysis will provide an evaluation of how well the netn protocol is meeting its objectives, develop effective ways to visualize community patterns of the intertidal data to park managers, and will inform the parks of how their intertidal communities are responding to sea level rise, ocean acidification, and changes in water temperature. This project will build resource stewardship ethics in its participants including the greater public and youth.
