About this award

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) awarded a $499,858 Cooperative Agreement under the National and Regional Climate Adaptation Science Centers (CFDA 15.820) program to the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) from July 1, 2024 to June 30, 2026. The goal of the project is to improve the ability of biologists, water managers, and other resource managers to effectively and appropriately use climate data. UAF will create a web tool and other resources that allow users to easily access, visualize, understand, and interpret data on how climate change is affecting water resources such as river flow and flooding. The web tool will include maps, charts, and tables that can be customized by location, with the ability to download reports, images, and data. The project aims to make climate change data more understandable and useful for decision-makers managing at-risk species and other natural resources. UAF will collaborate with end-users to ensure the web tool and resources meet their needs.
