Description

The area is owned by tinker air force base and consists of native prairie and woodland cross timbers. All microhabitats, including possible relict bualo wallows, located on the land will be surveyed for plant species present. Plant species not already documented from other areas of tinker owned land will be collected, pressed, dried, mounted, and laminated using standard practices. Final specimens will be deposited at tinker air force base and a final plant species list will be submitted to the base natural resource manager. Additionally, a dendrochronology survey will be conducted to assess the age structure of the existing forest located within the 170 acres. Trees will be cored, processed, and analyzed using standard dendrochronology techniques to identify the ages of trees at the site.
