Description

The project advances standardized, modular micro-grid control designs, while expanding collaborative development methods to allow remote communities to play a central role in the design and management of their own micro-grid control systems. Remote communities will be engaged and provided tools to collect data about their local energy system and energy needs in a manner that standardizes the data, allowing the data to be used in model-based simulations mimicking a variety of system-types and characteristics. The outcomes will allow communities to move away from the very high cost that microgrid developers offers along with the requirements to commit to long-term contracts with externally provided control platforms.
