Description
Awards issued prior to january 20, 2025, were funded under previous administrations and may not reflect the priorities and policies of the current administration.** in response to the waste crisis and landfill overcapacity in the oklahoma city metro area, a pioneering community composting program is set to launch. With 97% of waste heading to landfills and limited space available, the association of central oklahoma governments (acog) is leading the charge. The program aims to place convenient food waste drop sites throughout the region, diverting waste from landfills and collecting valuable data. Key partnerships, including collaborations with local experts, will enhance the program's reach and effectiveness. The initiative, rooted in regional commitment and guided by strategic alliances, seeks to not only reduce waste but also lay the groundwork for a sustainable scalable approach to composting in central oklahoma.
