About this award
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) awarded a $359,091 Cooperative Agreement to the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) under the Performance Partnership Grants (CFDA 66.605) program. This funding supports OHA's operation of the state's continuing environmental programs, granting it flexibility to address high priority environmental issues, improve environmental performance, achieve administrative savings, and strengthen the partnership between OHA and the EPA.
Specifically, the award provides funding for OHA to administer a state certification, accreditation, compliance, and enforcement program for persons engaged in lead-based paint activities, renovation, and pre-renovation work. The goal is to eliminate childhood lead poisoning in Oregon by ensuring and enforcing compliance with lead environmental laws and regulations. OHA has been authorized by the state to run the lead abatement, renovation, repair, painting, and pre-renovation education programs, and this grant funding directly supports those state-authorized lead programs.
