About this award

This federal contract award, valued at $1,456,399.45, was issued by the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM) to provide technical support for the development of the Theater Missile Defense and Advanced Positioning Technologies (TTEC and APT) programs. The effort will focus on realizing critical hardware-in-the-loop (HWIL) technologies to support laboratory operations and the manipulation of electro-optical sensor data using artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques. Key activities include developing AI/ML algorithms for missile detection, acquisition, and tracking using real-time modeling of sensor and threat system flight dynamics.

The prime contractor is Torch Technologies Inc., an employee-owned small business that specializes in defense and aerospace engineering, modeling and simulation, and cybersecurity services. Major subcontractors include Zivaro Inc. (IT services), Simulation Technologies Inc. (a women-owned small business providing modeling and simulation), and Integration Innovation Inc. (engineering solutions for missile defense and aviation). This effort is not a set-aside contract. It is part of a larger portfolio of work Torch Technologies performs as a prime and subcontractor on various Department of Defense programs related to missile defense, hypersonic technology, and aviation systems.

Description

This purpose of this effort is to provide technical support in the development of the ttec and APT. Technical activities will focus on the realization of critical hwil technologies needed to support laboratory operation and manipulation/assessment of electro-optical sensors output data, resulting in artificial intelligence machine learning techniques manipulating said sensor output data. The development effort will demonstrate the capability of training artificial intelligence machine learning missile detection/acquisition/tracking algorithms using data from coordinated scene generation based upon real-time modeling of sensor platform/threat system flight dynamics outputs.
