The National Institute of Drug Abuse awarded a $414,000 firm fixed price definitive contract to New York Stem Cell Foundation Inc. to provide expansion, differentiation, and validation of 36 neural progenitor cell lines derived from induced pluripotent stem cells obtained from subjects with psychiatric conditions. The original solicitation sought proposals to outsource these services within specified timeframes, with an emphasis on technical approach. New York Stem Cell Foundation will complete induced pluripotent stem cell expansion within seven months of the September 2020 start date, ship cell cultures and quality control reports within 21 days of reporting results, and retain detailed records for two years at the National Institute of Mental Health or National Institute on Drug Abuse. There is no set-aside designation for this contract to advance the National Institute on Drug Abuse's understanding of psychiatrically relevant conditions through stem cell research.
