About the company
Montalvo Association, doing business as Montalvo Arts Center, is a historic, non-profit arts organization located in Saratoga, California. Through its mission to nurture artists and create and present arts, Montalvo Arts Center provides a variety of arts-related services to the federal government via grant awards from agencies like the National Endowment for the Arts.
Specifically, Montalvo Arts Center has received federal funding to support multiple arts initiatives, including grants to fund public art installations, general operating support in light of COVID-19, subsidies for artists participating in its Lucas Artists Residency program, and artist fees associated with hosting American artists as part of the residency program. Across these project grants, which have been directly funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, Montalvo Arts Center has provided arts presentation, exhibition and performance services, operation of an arts residency program, community enrichment through public art, and art creation opportunities for specific artists. Based on this history of grant awards, Montalvo Arts Center seems to function as a prime recipient of federal grants, using funding to both create art through its own programs and support the work of affiliated artists.
