About the company
Lebron James Family Foundation is a non-profit organization founded by the professional basketball player LeBron James. The foundation aims to positively affect the lives of children and young adults through education and co-curricular educational initiatives.
The Lebron James Family Foundation has primarily received sub-awards from the City of Akron to support various projects and initiatives related to the I PROMISE School in Akron, Ohio. One sub-award funded the I PROMISE Yearly Expenses Project, which assisted in funding the school's Financial Empowerment Center. This project provided financial education and transitional housing for low-to-moderate-income families. Another sub-award provided funding for the planning, design, construction, and art installation of the I PROMISE School's new outdoor basketball court and resurfacing of the parking area through the Great Streets Akron Facade Grant program. Additionally, the foundation received a Community Service Program (CSP) Contract to complete Phase II of the I PROMISE School's remodeling and construction, including adding a laundry room, transforming the Family Resource Center into a family room with a kitchen, and purchasing fire-proof foam squares for each classroom. These sub-awards demonstrate the foundation's focus on providing educational resources, supportive services, and infrastructure improvements for the I PROMISE School and its students and families.
