About this program

The Department of Homeland Security operates the Prevention Advocacy Resources and Data Exchange (PARADE) Program (CFDA 97.094) to fund regional fire prevention networks, with the most recent grant award dated August 31, 2010—over 16 years ago.

This program is inactive. No grant opportunities have been posted since 2010, and no new awards have been disbursed since that date. The funding history shows initial activity from 2006 through 2010, with award volume declining sharply: four awards in 2006, three in 2007, two in 2008, and one final award in 2010. The portfolio contains only 10 total awards across the program's documented lifetime.

The program funds regional networks that support fire prevention and protection activities among state and local fire marshals, including exchange of prevention materials, risk analysis, hazard reduction, best practices, and trend analysis.

The assistance-type mix is predominantly Project Grants (90 percent of awards) with a single Block Grant (10 percent). All funding comes from the Department of Homeland Security.

Award magnitudes are uniformly small: the 10 awards obligated approximately $3,000 per award on average, with individual awards ranging from $2,116 to $3,000. Recent representative awards include Project Grant EME2006GR0304 for $3,000 (awarded September 8, 2006, completion September 7, 2007) and Block Grant 2010RB620060 for $3,000 (awarded August 31, 2010, completion August 31, 2011).

No active grant opportunities are currently open under this program. Do not pursue funding under PARADE; the program has been inactive for 16 years and shows no indication of resumption.
