About this program

The Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) funds telehealth technical assistance through the Telehealth Resource Centers Program (CFDA 93.481), which provides training, research dissemination, and support to providers serving rural and medically underserved areas and populations.

The program delivers customizable technical assistance nationwide through regional Resource Centers that train providers, disseminate telehealth research and information, promote collaboration among healthcare stakeholders, and foster adoption of telehealth technologies for clinical care and health education. The source does not report recent grant awards, award volumes, or open grant opportunities, making it unclear whether the program is actively disbursing funds or currently accepting applications. The source notes that renewals have not been determined and references an associated Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) without providing a posting date, opportunity title, or deadline.

Eligible applicants include public entities, private nonprofits, for-profit organizations, faith-based and community-based organizations, Tribes, and tribal organizations. Award notifications are issued in writing by Notice of Award following an independent review conducted by HRSA's Division of Independent Review. The program typically operates on a two-month timeline between application and award decision. Recipients must maintain grant accounting records for three years after submitting the Federal Financial Review, or longer if litigation or audit activity extends the retention period. Nonfederal entities that expend one million dollars or more in federal awards in a year are subject to single or program-specific audit under 2 CFR 200, Subpart F.

To determine current funding status and solicit opportunities, contact HRSA or your State's designated single point of contact, as many States have selected the program for their own review process.
