About this program

The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) within the Department of Health and Human Services funds telehealth health services research and rapid-response data analysis through the Telehealth Research program (CFDA 93.477), with no current grant opportunities posted and no recent award date visible in the available data.

The program operates two distinct funding tracks. The Telehealth Research Center Program conducts clinically informed and policy-relevant health services research to expand the evidence base for telehealth services. The Telehealth Rapid Response Center conducts rapid telehealth data analyses and short-term, issue-specific telehealth research studies to provide stakeholders and the public with resources to understand the impact of telehealth policies and regulations. Both tracks emphasize generating evidence and actionable intelligence on telehealth implementation, policy, and impact rather than infrastructure deployment or direct service delivery.

Eligible applicants include public, for-profit, and nonprofit entities, as well as institutions of higher education, faith-based and community-based organizations, tribes, and tribal organizations. The application and review process involves submission to HRSA, with final funding decisions made by an independent review panel conducted by HRSA's Division of Independent Review. Award notification is issued in writing via Notice of Award, and applicants must follow any state-specific review processes if their state has selected the program for review. The review and award cycle runs on a two-month timeline.

The source provides no information on recent grant awards, award economics, assistance-type distribution, funding concentration among HRSA sub-components, or typical award magnitudes. The source indicates that renewals have not been determined, which may signal program uncertainty or a pending renewal decision. No Notice of Funding Opportunity is currently available in the provided material, and no recent grant opportunities are listed. Prospective applicants should consult the active NOFO directly for program-specific funding criteria and application deadlines when available.
