About this program
The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families does not currently award grants under this program; the most recent grant awards date to September 30, 2012 — fourteen years ago. CFDA 93.075, Systems Interoperability_Health and Human Services, supported pilot projects to improve stewardship of federal dollars in health and human services assistance programs by reducing improper payments, improving administrative efficiency, and enhancing service delivery through improved interoperability and integration of eligibility, enrollment, case management, and other related functions across state HHS information technology systems.
The program funded seven Project Grants totaling $7.5 million in federal obligations, awarded in a single cohort on September 30, 2012, each with a completion date of September 29, 2013. All funding came from the single federal agency listed above. Representative awards included the Colorado Client Information Sharing System (CCISS) for $1.124 million, the Illinois Interoperability and Integration Project for $1.125 million, and the Oklahoma Collaborative Project for $1.122 million. Award magnitudes ranged from approximately $930 thousand to $1.125 million.
Grantees were expected to explore systems design and implementation options, determine costs and benefits of different approaches, assess potential client outcomes and impacts, and develop concrete implementation plans and roadmaps for other states to consider. Each grant required demonstration of how enhanced interoperability and integration could improve service delivery, increase program efficiency, reduce errors, and enhance program integrity.
No grant opportunities are currently open under this Assistance Listing, and no new grant awards have been disbursed since the 2012 cohort. This program appears inactive for funding purposes.
Objective and description
- Objective
The Partnership Fund for Program Integrity Innovation at the Office of Management and Budget funds pilot projects for improving the stewardship of federal dollars in assistance programs through the following measures: reducing improper payments; improving administrative efficiency; improving service delivery; and protecting and improving program access for eligible beneficiaries. Supported by the Partnership Fund, these pilot projects will explore and plan improved interoperability and integration in eligibility and enrollment, case management, and other related functions across health and human services information technology systems. Grantees can explore systems design and implementation options, determine the costs and benefits of different options, the potential client outcomes and impacts of each option, and develop concrete implementation plans and options for the grantee to consider, as well as produce a road map noting what could or should be considered by other States. In addition, each grant will demonstrate how enhanced interoperability and integrations can improve service delivery, increase program efficiency, and/or reduce errors and enhance program integrity.
