Construction, Reconstruction, and Renovation of Academic Facilities

The Department of Education has not posted recent grant awards or open grant opportunities under the Construction, Reconstruction, and Renovation of Academic Facilities program (CFDA 84.172) as of the information available. Without current award data, portfolio composition, funding concentration, or active solicitations, a substantive program assessment cannot be completed at this time.

To determine whether this Assistance Listing remains an active funding vehicle for your organization, verify the program's current status directly through Grants.gov, the Department of Education's Office of Postsecondary Education (which typically administers facility construction grants), and the agency's fiscal year NOFOs. Construction and renovation programs often operate on multi-year appropriation cycles and may not post opportunities every fiscal year; absence of recent awards in available sources does not necessarily indicate the program is inactive.

Request current documentation from the Department of Education including the most recent Notice of Funding Opportunity, the agency's fiscal year funding priorities, and examples of awards from the past two to three years. Ask specifically whether 84.172 remains funded under current appropriations and what the anticipated timeline is for the next application window.
