About this program
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) funds state adoption and implementation of California's motor vehicle greenhouse gas and zero emission standards under Clean Air Act Section 177 through competitive grants (CFDA 66.048), with no current open opportunity or recent award activity visible in the available source material.
The program provides funding to state governments that choose to adopt California's vehicle emissions standards, enabling reduction of greenhouse gas and criteria air pollutants through state-level regulatory implementation. Eligible applicants are limited to state governments. The program operates through competitive awards announced periodically; EPA specifies evaluation criteria, deadlines, and pre-application assistance (if any) in individual competitive announcements rather than through standing solicitation terms.
Applications must be submitted through Grants.gov except in limited circumstances approved by EPA. All competitive awards are subject to EPA review and evaluation in accordance with agency policy on competition for assistance agreements. Grant awards are subject to inspection and audit by the Comptroller General, the EPA Office of Inspector General, and other authorized federal representatives, with annual reviews by EPA Project Officers and Grants Specialists. Extensions of award terms require EPA approval.
The source material does not include a portfolio block with recent award counts, dollar totals, assistance-type distribution, or funding concentration data. No recent grant awards are documented in the available source. No currently open grant opportunities are listed with due dates or eligibility constraints. To determine current funding availability, application windows, and representative recent award amounts, consult the EPA's Grants.gov portal for posted competitive announcements under CFDA 66.048 or contact EPA directly for information on the next anticipated funding round under the Inflation Reduction Act Section 60105(g) grant program authority.
