About this program

This is not a viable federal grant program for business development pursuit. The VA Outer Burial Receptacle Allowance Program (CFDA 64.206) under the Department of Veterans Affairs is a benefit reimbursement program, not a grants program that supports organizational projects, services, or activities.

The program provides a monetary allowance directly to individuals who have paid for privately purchased outer burial receptacles for casketed burials in VA national cemeteries or VA grant-funded cemeteries. The allowance is payable to the person who incurred the expense, not to organizations seeking to fund operations, research, infrastructure, or service delivery. This structure—direct payment to individuals for a specific incurred cost—is characteristic of veteran benefit administration, not grant-making to eligible applicant organizations.

The source contains no grant award portfolio, no recent grant awards to organizations, no award cadence, and no open grant opportunities. The program description includes no funding envelope, award ranges, or organizational eligibility. The reference to "VA grant funded cemeteries" describes cemeteries that receive VA grants under a separate authority (38 U.S.C. 2408), not applicant organizations seeking funding under CFDA 64.206 itself.

Organizations managing cemeteries or providing burial services should evaluate the separate VA cemetery grant program cited in the statute rather than this allowance listing. Individuals or families seeking reimbursement for burial receptacle expenses should contact VA directly for benefits eligibility and claims processing.
