About this program

The Department of Transportation's Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration National Training Center (CFDA 20.241) has not issued grant awards since September 2009, making this program inactive for pursuing purposes. The program's stated mission is to develop and deliver motor carrier safety training to federal, state, and local government officials, with a focus on reducing fatalities and injuries in commercial vehicle operations. Training areas include commercial driver and vehicle inspection, drug interdiction, intelligent transportation systems, compliance and enforcement, highway safety, education and outreach, and program management support.

The portfolio reflects a single cooperative agreement awarded in 2009 for $259 thousand obligated by the Department of Transportation, titled "Multi-Media to Support State Safety Programs," with a completion date of September 28, 2010. No grant opportunities are currently posted or have been announced recently under this Assistance Listing.

The seventeen-year absence of grant activity and lack of current or recent solicitations indicates this program is not an active funding vehicle. The NTC remains an operational federal training center, but it does not appear to distribute funding through competitive grants at this time. Prospective applicants should verify directly with FMCSA whether this Assistance Listing remains open to new applications, as the listing may reflect historical program structure rather than current operational practice.
