About this program

The Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs funds the National Center for Campus Public Safety (CFDA 16.822) to operate as a think tank and clearinghouse for campus safety research, training, best practices, and emerging-issue identification and dissemination.

The program serves campus police chiefs, directors of public safety, emergency managers, and other campus safety stakeholders by examining emerging risks to campus security, developing resources to address those risks, and facilitating the transfer of research to operational practice. The National Center convenes campus public safety professionals, professional associations, advocacy organizations, and community leaders to improve and expand safety services across the nation's colleges and universities.

No recent grant awards or current grant opportunities are present in the source material. The source provides programmatic guidance and administrative requirements rather than portfolio data, recent funding activity, or open solicitations. To determine current award cadence, typical award magnitudes, assistance-type distribution, or active solicitation timelines, consult the Office of Justice Programs current-funding-opportunities listing at https://ojp.gov/funding/Explore/CurrentFundingOpportunities.htm or the Bureau of Justice Assistance website at www.bja.gov. Application review timelines range from 30 to 180 days following submission. State single points of contact review proposed federal assistance in jurisdictions that have designated a coordinator; applicants should identify their state's SPOC using the list at https://www.whitehouse.gov/wp-content/uploads/2017/11/Intergovernmental_-Review-_SPOC_01_2018_OFFM.pdf. No appeal rights exist for discretionary application rejection. Award recipients must maintain financial records, supporting documents, statistical records, and all pertinent documentation for at least three years following the most recent audit close.
