About this program

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service funds projects supporting the Quagga/Zebra Mussel Action Plan for Western U.S. Waters under CFDA 15.691, with eligibility limited to states within the Western Regional Panel boundary and no current hard date for the next application cycle provided in the source.

The program supports projects aligned with top priorities in the Quagga/Zebra Mussel Action Plan for Western waters. Funding prohibits land purchase and construction projects; all other project categories are eligible for unrestricted use within the action plan framework. Award decisions follow a three-step process: technical acceptability review, eligibility screening for single-source awards, and merit-based ranking by a panel of federal biologists and aquatic invasive species specialists from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's Branch of Invasive Species, with outside expert reviewers added when needed. Approval timelines typically run 90 to 180 days from submission to award decision.

The source provides no recent grant awards data, award history, portfolio concentration figures, or funding magnitudes. No grant opportunities are currently open or recently posted in the source material. Applicants must consult the program's Notice of Funding Opportunity on Grants.gov for annual application procedures, deadlines, and program contact information. Recipients must retain project records for three years following the performance period end date.

Given the absence of award history, recent opportunity postings, and portfolio data in the source, BD assessment of program activity level and pursuit viability requires direct contact with the Fish and Wildlife Service point of contact listed in the current NOFO or a Grants.gov search for the program's notice to confirm whether the program is currently accepting applications.
