About this program

The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Office of Native American Programs administers the Training and Technical Assistance for Native Hawaiian Housing Block Grant Program (CFDA 14.894) to provide training and technical assistance supporting Native Hawaiian community development, with the most recent posted opportunity dated August 29, 2012, and closed October 16, 2012.

The program funds technical assistance delivery to Native Hawaiian Housing Block Grant subrecipients and the Department of Hawaiian Homelands through cooperative agreements. Eligible applicants include nonprofit and for-profit organizations that demonstrate capacity to perform required tasks, evaluated on experience, performance, management, and quality control. Assistance awards span two years. Records must be retained for three to five years following final expenditure report submission or until all audit findings are resolved. Cost allowance follows OMB Circular A-87, Circular A-122, or 48 CFR 31.2.

The 2012 solicitation (FR-5600-N-37) structured funding across three categories: approximately $2 million for national and regional nonprofits representing Native American housing interests; approximately $5 million for both nonprofits representing Native American housing interests and for-profit entities; and approximately $350 thousand for national or regional nonprofits or for-profit entities with one anticipated award. The program operated as a cooperative agreement vehicle and anticipated funding multiple T&TA providers to work collaboratively in teams across the country, centrally managed by HUD headquarters with Area ONAP involvement.

No grant awards or funding activity are documented in the source after the 2012 solicitation closing date. No current open opportunities are present in the source.
