About this program

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the Department of Commerce funds the Hawaii Stock Management Program (CFDA 11.445), a marine hatchery-and-release stock enhancement initiative designed to protect and enhance Hawaii's depleted nearshore fishery resources through developed and tested management technology. The program has not disbursed grant awards since July 2005, making it inactive for over twenty years.

The program funded five Project Grants between 2001 and 2005, each awarded on a single-year or multi-year cycle. Recent representative awards include Project Grant NA05NMF4451229 for $1,401,027 (July 2005, completion June 2010), Project Grant NA04NMF4450111 for $465,676 (July 2004, completion June 2005), and Project Grant NA03NMF4450380 for $472,000 (July 2003, completion June 2004). All five awards were Project Grants, with no Cooperative Agreements or other assistance types in the portfolio. NOAA was the sole funding source across all awards.

Combined federal dollars obligated totaled $3.3 million across the five awards, with non-federal cost-share contributions bringing combined total obligation to $3.7 million. Individual award magnitudes ranged from $465,676 to $1,401,027.

No grant opportunities are currently posted under this listing. The absence of awards or solicitation activity after 2005 indicates the program is not actively funding. Organizations considering pursuit of this program should verify current operational status with NOAA before investing development effort.
