About this program

The Department of Agriculture's Natural Resources Conservation Service administers the Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production (CFDA 10.940), which funds urban, indoor, and emerging agricultural practices including community gardens and farms in urban areas, suburbs, and urban clusters; rooftop farms and outdoor vertical production; indoor farms, greenhouses, and high-tech vertical technology farms; hydroponic, aeroponic, and aquaponic facilities; and other innovations in agricultural production as determined by the Secretary.

The source provides no recent grant award data, recent grant opportunities, assistance-type distribution, award economics, or funding activity timeline. No portfolio block detailing award frequency, dollar volumes, or recent disbursement dates is present. The program description does not disclose whether grant opportunities have been posted recently or identify representative award recipients and magnitudes.

The program operates under Uniform Administrative Requirements (2 CFR 200) and implements assistance through fully executed interagency, cooperative, or contribution agreements. NRCS may extend agreements for up to 12 months for non-expired awards. Final approval rests with the Chief of the Natural Resources Conservation Service, with the Director of the Office of Urban Agriculture and Innovative Production determining specific funding allocations. Adverse determinations on full proposals are final with no appeal process. Pre-application coordination is available through NRCS headquarters or regional offices.

To assess current pursuit potential, contact NRCS headquarters or the appropriate regional office directly for information on recently posted opportunities, typical award ranges, and the current solicitation calendar. The absence of posted opportunity details in this record suggests checking the Federal Register or Grants.gov for active NOFOs under this listing.
