About this program
The Department of Agriculture Forest Service through its Washington Office Acquisitions funded one recent cooperative agreement under CFDA 10.706 (Grey Towers Cooperative Authorities) as of September 10, 2024, awarding $5 thousand in federal dollars against a total project value of $9 thousand. The program promotes recreational, educational, and cultural programming centered on the Grey Towers National Historic Site in Milford, Pennsylvania, supporting scientific, policy analysis, and natural resource conservation activities that perpetuate Gifford Pinchot's conservation legacy through established partnerships.
The program's current activity is extremely limited. The grant portfolio reflects a single award in the past 24 months—a Cooperative Agreement titled Grey Towers Legacy Scholarship executed on September 10, 2024, with performance extending through October 31, 2028. The portfolio shows no trend of regular annual funding; prior activity is not documented in the available records.
The program funds collaborative conservation, educational, and cultural initiatives tied to Grey Towers and the surrounding Milford region, leveraging the site as a convening place where natural resource leaders meet and the public engages with conservation heritage. Grant purposes include honoring Gifford Pinchot's legacy and enhancing regional recreational and educational capacity through partnership-based programming.
All identified funding flows through the Department of Agriculture Forest Service Washington Office Acquisitions. The recent award mechanism is exclusively Cooperative Agreement. Recipients have included nonprofits, state and local government organizations, and Tribal Organizations; other groups may be deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis. Grant performance periods run up to a maximum of five years. The recent scholarship award obligated $5 thousand in federal resources, with recipients contributing $4 thousand in matching or cost-share support.
