About this program

The Department of Agriculture's Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement issues cooperative agreements under the Minority-Serving Institutions Partnership program (CFDA 10.466) to strengthen connections between communities and USDA programs and initiatives through university partnerships.

The program funds collaborative activities that connect communities to USDA education, tools, and resources. Eligible recipients include minority-serving state agricultural experiment stations, state cooperative extension services, colleges and universities, research or education institutions, Federal and private agencies and organizations, and individuals. Funding supports participant support costs and related administrative expenditures. Awards are contingent on annual congressional appropriations and subject to the Office of Partnerships and Public Engagement's approval.

The program operates exclusively through cooperative agreements rather than project grants or other assistance types. Recipients must maintain separate records for each award and retain documentation for at least three years following the award period, or longer if litigation or unresolved audit findings are pending. Award records are subject to inspection during the funding term.

No recent grant awards, award portfolio data, or open grant opportunities are present in the source material provided. The source does not contain award dates, funding amounts, recent recipient examples, or posted solicitation details sufficient to assess current activity level, award cadence, or near-term application deadlines. To evaluate whether this program is actively accepting applications and what recent awards have funded, check Grants.gov for current NOFO postings under CFDA 10.466 and review recent awards on SAM.gov.
