About this program
The Department of Agriculture Farm Service Agency administers the Marketing Assistance for Specialty Crops program (CFDA 10.096), which provides direct payments to eligible specialty crop producers to support marketing activities that expand domestic markets or develop new markets for their crops.
MASC funds marketing activities by specialty crop producers, defined broadly to include fruits and dried fruits, vegetables, dry edible beans and peas, mushrooms, vegetable seed, tree nuts, nursery crops, Christmas trees, floriculture, culinary and medicinal herbs and spices, honey, hops, maple sap, tea, turfgrass, and grass seed. The program operates through periodic enrollment periods announced by FSA, with payments issued after the application period closes. Producers must retain documentation supporting their applications for three years after approval.
Eligibility is limited to active farming operations with an ownership share and production risk in a specialty crop intended for sale in calendar year 2025. Eligible applicants include United States citizens, resident aliens, partnerships and corporations organized under State law, Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations, and foreign persons or entities meeting 7 CFR part 1400 requirements. Federal, State, and local governments, including public schools, are ineligible. Producers may request reconsideration or appeal FSA decisions to the USDA National Appeals Division.
The source provided does not include recent grant award data, award history, or current funding opportunity details. No dollar amounts are specified for individual or aggregate payments, and no recent application deadlines or open enrollment periods are documented in the available materials. FSA maintains documentation of program activity and current enrollment periods through its official channels and state-level offices.
