About this opportunity

The Town of Harwich Water Department is requesting sealed bids for furnishing and delivery of water works materials under two separately awardable sections, with bids due September 18, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The procurement is conducted under Massachusetts General Law Chapter 30B and includes a domestic-U.S.-made requirement or equivalent, with all brass components required to be lead-free.

Section 1 covers major water infrastructure components including Hi-Max couplings (1-1/2" to 24"), MJ fittings, Mega Lug restraints, resilient-seated valves, fire hydrants with various bury depths and extensions, gate boxes, service boxes with extensions, polyethylene tubing, service saddles, and meter pit components. Section 2 covers smaller diameter water service materials including pipe repair clamps, Mueller brass corporation stops, curb stops, adapters, couplings, unions, meter couplings, lead-free brass nipples and fittings, and ball valves in sizes from 3/4" to 2". The materials list provides specific manufacturer references and model numbers to ensure standardization. Bidders must submit unit pricing for enumerated items; the Town does not guarantee minimum volume or dollar amount of purchases.

The estimated annual expenditure is approximately $100,000 on an as-needed basis. The contract term is one year from award date through August 31, 2027, with options for up to two additional one-year renewal terms subject to mutual agreement, satisfactory performance, and availability of appropriations. Bidders must provide references for contracts performed within the past two years of similar size and scope. The contractor must maintain General Liability coverage of $1,000,000 occurrence/$3,000,000 aggregate, Automobile Liability of $1,000,000 per accident if applicable, Workers' Compensation as required by law, and Umbrella Liability of $2,000,000 occurrence/aggregate, with the Municipality named as additional insured. Written questions are due September 16, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. to jason.trepanier@harwich-ma.gov. Payment is intended within thirty days after receipt of proper invoice and satisfactory delivery.
