About this opportunity

Fort Bend County MUD No. 26 is soliciting sealed bids for replacement of an existing diesel emergency generator with a natural gas generator, including electrical modifications, concrete foundation work, and site restoration at 1812 Freshmeadow Drive, Missouri City, Texas, with bids due October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. via CivcastUSA.com. A pre-bid conference is scheduled for September 29, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the project site; attendance is encouraged but not mandatory.

The scope includes demolition of the existing diesel generator, installation of a natural gas generator with related electrical equipment, construction of a reinforced concrete foundation and surrounding sidewalk, partial driveway removal and replacement for conduit and gas line installation, and site restoration. The contractor must maintain water plant operation throughout construction, limiting shutdowns to less than one day with at least two weeks' advance coordination and must coordinate with utility operator Quail Valley Utility District. All required permits are the contractor's responsibility at no additional cost to the owner.

Nine base bid items and two alternate bid items structure the pricing. The contractor must complete work within a contractor-specified number of calendar days; liquidated damages are assessed at $250 per day for delays beyond the contract completion time. The contract will be awarded within sixty days of bid submission.

Bid security of 2% of the total base bid amount, in the form of a bidder's bond or cashier's check, is required. The successful bidder must furnish Performance and Payment Bonds for 100% of the contract sum; surety companies must hold a minimum "A" rating from Best Key Rating Guide or appear on the Treasury Department's current list and be authorized to transact business in Texas. General liability insurance with minimum limits of $1 million per occurrence / $2 million aggregate and business automobile liability insurance with $1 million combined limits are required, with Fort Bend County MUD No. 26 and Burke Engineering, LLC named as additional insureds. The contractor must comply with prevailing wage rates adopted by the City of Houston and provide a one-year warranty and guarantee covering all work. The owner is exempt from Texas sales and use taxes; bid amounts must not include sales tax.
