About this opportunity
Northville Public Schools in Michigan is requesting proposals for comprehensive waste management and recycling services across 13 school and administrative buildings under an RFP with proposals due August 7, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., and a non-mandatory pre-proposal meeting on July 24, 2026.
The scope includes trash removal from front-load and 8-cubic-yard roll-off containers and single-stream recycling collection at six elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and several administrative and support facilities. Bidders must submit pricing using a detailed proposal form specifying per-pickup rates for 6-cubic-yard and 8-cubic-yard containers and collection frequencies across all locations, with Year Two and Year Three escalation percentages. All costs—container supply, maintenance, delivery, labor, permits, licenses, and insurance—must be included in the bid price with no fuel or environmental surcharges permitted unless explicitly listed and capped.
Vendors must demonstrate at least five years of successful experience in similar work and carry comprehensive insurance including workers' compensation with $1 million employer's liability limits, general liability with $1 million combined single limits, and automobile liability coverage. A 5% bid bond or certified check is required with each submission.
The contract term runs three years: October 1, 2026, through June 30, 2027 (Year One); July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2028 (Year Two); and July 1, 2028, through June 30, 2029 (Year Three), commencing October 1, 2026. The District reserves the right to accept or reject any proposal, award to other than the lowest bidder, and adjust services during the contract term. Local vendor status may be considered as part of award criteria. Bidders must submit sworn and notarized familial disclosure statements and Iran Economic Sanctions Act compliance affidavits. The Board of Education will make its award recommendation at the regular Board meeting on August 25, 2026.
