About this opportunity

The Village of Rye Brook Department of Public Works and Engineering is requesting sealed bids for Contract #2026-18, Village Hall Concrete Repairs, with bids due August 7, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. This is a compressed timeline — the notice posted August 5 with a two-day window to bid.

The scope covers removal and replacement of concrete sidewalks and curbing at Village Hall (26 King Street, Rye Brook, New York), including removal of existing concrete from the garage area to the front entrance and extending midway on the side walkway; installation of 6×6 W1.4/W1.4 welded wire mesh reinforcement; pouring 4-inch thick concrete at 4,000 PSI with air entrainment; control and expansion joints; non-slip broom finish; commercial-grade curing compound; and an ADA-compliant handicap ramp at the flagpole location. Base bid quantities are 25 cubic yards of concrete removal and installation, 3 cubic yards of recycled gravel, and one ADA ramp, with an optional alternate for an additional 6-foot by 40-foot walkway section (4.5 cubic yards).

Bidders must demonstrate a minimum of 5 years' experience in concrete work, with municipal experience preferred. Prior to execution, the successful bidder must provide New York State Department of Labor contractor registration, OSHA 10 certification for all workers, workers' compensation and disability insurance, public liability insurance at $2 million single limit per occurrence, automobile liability insurance at $2 million, and owners and contractors protective liability coverage. All work must be performed by company employees; no subcontracting is permitted. The contractor must comply with New York State prevailing wage requirements and implement a written sexual harassment prevention policy with annual employee training.

Sealed bids must include a 5% bid bond, certified check, or bank check. Bid prices must remain firm for 45 calendar days. Award goes to the lowest responsible bidder, who must execute the contract within 10 business days of award. Specifications became available July 29, 2026; site visits are strongly advised. Bid prices exclude state and local sales taxes; the Village will issue a Certificate of Tax Exemption for materials.
