About this opportunity
The Colorado Department of Transportation is soliciting a documented quote for guardrail removal and replacement on US Route 287 north of Coal Creek, Denver County, with quotes due September 17, 2026, and a desired purchase order start date of September 28. Written inquiries are due by 5 p.m. on September 9, 2026.
The project involves removing substandard guardrail, end anchorage, and bridge rail transition on the southbound side of US 287 and replacing them with MASH-compliant components in accordance with the 2025 CDOT Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction and applicable M&S standards. Respondents must demonstrate minimum three completed projects from the past five years involving highway guardrail work, with at least two performed for state DOTs or local public entities. On-site traffic control must be managed by an ATSSA- or CCA-certified Traffic Control Supervisor.
The anticipated contract term is 90 calendar days or until final acceptance and payment, whichever occurs first. Price is the primary evaluation criterion. Award will be made to the responsible respondent whose acceptable quote is determined most advantageous to the State, and CDOT reserves the right to award to multiple offerors. Proposed pricing must remain firm throughout the initial contract term and include all fees associated with delivery and services.
Prior to contract execution, the awarded respondent must provide proof of good standing with the Colorado Secretary of State and an insurance certificate documenting required coverage. Respondents must disclose potential conflicts of interest and whether performance is anticipated outside Colorado or the United States. Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSBs) must submit U.S. Small Business Administration certification documentation with their quotes. Estimated award notification is September 22, 2026. All quotes must be submitted via BidNet Direct with a completed pricing table, a narrative technical approach and schedule (maximum 2 pages), and project references.
