About this opportunity

SUNY Stony Brook University Hospital is seeking to procure a Surgical Laser and Related Items through a Vizient consortium contract, leveraging section 163 (3) (vi) of state procurement guidelines to facilitate a direct purchase without a formal competitive process. The procurement opportunity, identified by State Local Contract Opportunity ID 6819e08f4ea074932402f936, is open to vendors who can supply equivalent surgical laser equipment and related products. Interested vendors must contact Richard Frenger directly and are cautioned about communication restrictions under NYS Finance Law 139 j&k (Lobbying Law). The contract will be active from May 29, 2025, through June 30, 2025, and covers all New York State counties, with a proposal submission deadline of May 28, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Vendors are strongly recommended to file a Vendor Responsibility Questionnaire through the New York State VendRep System and must provide their New York State Vendor Identification Number.

The procurement does not include a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned business set-aside, and no business entities with identical or substantially similar contracts in the past five years are noted. Vendors must be prepared to submit valid and current NYS Workman's Compensation and Disability Forms, along with documents related to NYS Finance Law 139 j&k and Public Officers Law. The procurement process requires strict adherence to state guidelines, with potential consequences for non-compliance ranging from contract denial to debarment from sales to New York State agencies. Vendors seeking assistance with the VendRep System can contact the Office of the State Comptroller's Help Desk at 866-370-4672, 518-408-4672, or via email at ciohelpdesk@osc.state.ny.us. While specific budget ranges are not provided, the procurement is specifically for surgical laser equipment and related items through the Vizient consortium contract.
