About this opportunity

The Horticultural Society of New York is requesting proposals for the supply and delivery of horticultural materials for the East Harlem Tree Corridor Project, with proposals due August 26, 2026. The project, funded through a New York State Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant and running through October 2029, will transform East 116th Street and East 125th Street into green corridors.

The scope encompasses street trees (minimum caliper size 2.5–3.5 inches, structurally sound and disease-free), shrubs, understory plantings, groundcover, planting soil mixes, structural soil if required, compost, mulch, amendments, and associated staking, root protection, and stabilization materials. All materials must comply with NYC Parks Standards, the NYC Parks-approved species list (to be finalized post-award), ANSI Z60.1 nursery standards, and NYC Parks soil and planting specifications. Plant species must be tolerant of urban streetscape conditions, including salt exposure. Phased delivery is required to East 116th and East 125th corridor locations aligned with the installation schedule.

Materials will be procured through purchase orders issued between award and project completion rather than as a single lump-sum contract. No estimated contract value, budget range, or contract term structure is specified in the RFP overview. The source does not identify evaluation criteria, incumbent suppliers, or a pre-bid meeting or site-visit date.
