About this opportunity
The Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans is requesting bids on approximately 150 units of 110–115V submersible sewage pumps under ITB 2026-SWB-33, with bids due November 12, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. CST and a site visit scheduled for November 4 at Station D Loading Dock.
The scope includes submersible sewage pumps with 1 horsepower, single-phase operation, 2-inch FNPT discharge, maximum 2-inch diameter solids capacity, manual thermal protection, 50-foot cord length, ball bearing type, and cast iron body with 303 stainless steel base. The awardee must maintain sufficient stock for emergency needs, comply with a 15 working-day delivery requirement to Station D Loading Dock (weekdays 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. only), and submit bid responses in hard copy sealed envelopes; fax and email submissions will not be accepted. Required attachments include a cover sheet, bid form, affidavits, and manufacturer specifications; failure to complete all attachments results in a non-responsive bid.
The contract period runs one year initially with two optional one-year renewal periods and a potential month-to-month extension up to three months. Items are ordered on an as-needed basis only. Bid pricing must remain firm for 90 days after bid opening. Price adjustments for renewal periods may be requested 90–120 days prior to the renewal date, based on the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics Producer Price Index or another mutually agreed-upon index.
The contractor must carry comprehensive insurance: workers' compensation, commercial general liability ($1 million each occurrence), business automobile liability ($1 million), and errors and omissions ($1 million each claim), with the SWBNO and City of New Orleans named as additional insureds. A non-collusion statement and confirmation that no principal, member, or officer has been convicted of specified felonies within five years are required.
Written questions are due October 28 at 5:00 p.m. Responses to bidders' questions will be provided by November 6. The SWBNO reserves the right to award to a single bidder or separate bidders, evaluate bids separately or grouped, accept or reject all proposals, and award on an all-or-none basis as deemed in its best interest.
