About this opportunity
The School District of Palm Beach County, Florida is requesting bids on stage curtains for purchase, delivery, and installation at multiple school locations, with proposals due August 5, 2026 under IFB 26C-65T. A 5% Small Business Enterprise (SBE) bid preference applies to District-certified small business enterprises where the price difference does not exceed $50,000 or 5%, whichever is less.
Stage curtains must be inherently flame resistant in accordance with NFPA 701, milled in the U.S.A., with no polyester substitutions allowed and cotton prohibited. Each curtain requires a permanently attached label confirming inherent flame resistance. Pleats must be sewn with no exceptions. The scope includes fabrication, delivery, installation, and removal and disposal of existing curtains, with all costs borne by the bidder. Bidders must provide standard color selections for District approval; the District will select front curtain and valance colors from the vendor's offerings. New curtains shall utilize existing supports, though the awarded bidder must notify the District's Facility Management Coordinator of any concerns regarding support safety or integrity prior to installation. Bidders must field-verify dimensions, state the quantity in linear yards for each project, and demonstrate full operational status upon completion. All work must comply with Florida Building Code and Florida Fire Prevention Code standards and be performed and supervised by vendor-employed personnel.
The contract term is three years with potential renewal for two additional one-year periods by mutual agreement. The District will award both a primary and secondary vendor to ensure scheduling flexibility. Pricing must remain firm for the entire contract term unless verifiable industry price increases, seasonal or market conditions, or tariff changes occur; any adjustment request requires detailed documentation submitted 30 days in advance. Bidders must submit five customer references, valid business licenses, proof of Florida Certificate of Authority, insurance certificates naming the School Board as additional insured, and three years of audited financial statements. Personnel accessing school grounds must comply with Jessica Lunsford Act background check requirements. All vendors must register with the B2GNow Compliance Reporting System for monthly payment and progress reporting. Minimum insurance coverage includes Workers' Compensation and Commercial General Liability of $1,000,000. Intent to award and bid tabulations will be posted August 11, 2026.
