About this opportunity
The City of Fullerton, California is requesting bids for Southeast Hangars Roof Rehabilitation at Fullerton Municipal Airport under IFB #49018, with bids due September 22, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. and a mandatory pre-bid meeting on September 8 at 10:00 a.m. The project is federally funded and subject to Build America, Buy America (BABA) and Davis-Bacon Act prevailing wage requirements, which filter eligible contractors and set labor-cost baselines.
The scope comprises removal and installation of sheet metal roofing, trim, skylights, turbine vents, gutters, downspouts, splash blocks, hangar signage, and water pollution control measures across eight base bid line items (quantities range from 55 hangar identification signs to 4,700 linear feet of gutter and downspout work) plus one bid alternate for solar-powered turbine vents.
The City Engineer's estimate is $650,000. Bidders must hold a current California Class A or C-39 contractor license at bid submission. All contractors and subcontractors must register with the Department of Industrial Relations under Labor Code 1725.5 and maintain a City business license. Commercial general liability insurance of $2,000,000 per occurrence / $4,000,000 aggregate, business automobile liability of $2,000,000 per accident, and workers' compensation insurance as required by California are mandatory. A bidder's bond, certified check, or cashier's check equal to at least 10% of the bid amount must accompany proposals; the three lowest bidders must submit original hard copies within three working days of opening. The successful bidder must provide Performance and Labor and Materials Bonds, each at 100% of bid price.
Work must be completed within thirty calendar days from Notice to Proceed (anticipated November 2, 2026), with liquidated damages of $1,500 per calendar day for delays. Award will be made to the lowest responsible bidder. Questions are due September 15 at 5:00 p.m. Anticipated award is October 6, 2026.
