About this opportunity

The Brazos River Authority (BRA) is requesting sealed bids for solid waste collection and disposal services at Possum Kingdom Lake, with bids due October 13, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. and virtual bid opening at 11:00 a.m. the same day.

The scope encompasses weekly collection of approximately 39 front-load dumpsters (3-cubic-yard, 6-cubic-yard, and 8-cubic-yard units) and on-demand collection of 40-cubic-yard roll-off and compactor containers within three days of notification. The contractor must self-perform 100 percent of services without subcontractors, except for wholly-owned subsidiaries or affiliated companies under common ownership. Services support BRA operational sites, including public use areas, villages, convenience stations, and open trash areas. All waste must be disposed at TCEQ-compliant landfills or transfer facilities in compliance with TAC Chapter 330. Collection operations must occur between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., primarily on Mondays with additional collections scheduled before and after Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day weekends. The contractor assumes full responsibility for spillage and must use sealed packer-type trucks that do not leak or scatter waste.

The contract term is one year with options for renewal for up to four additional one-year periods, totaling a potential five-year term. Respondents must submit separate monthly and annual pricing for each container category; the BRA is exempt from sales and use taxes and will not accept tax charges in bids. Award goes to the lowest responsible bidder. The contractor must provide proof of insurance before work commences, including general liability ($500,000 per person / $1,000,000 per occurrence), workers' compensation (statutory), automobile liability ($1,000,000 per claim and aggregate), employers' liability ($1,000,000 policy limit), and pollution liability ($1,000,000 per claim). Insurance documentation must be uploaded to myCOItracking.com. Questions are due by 4:00 p.m. on October 2, 2026.
