About this opportunity

The City of Columbus, Department of Public Service is requesting proposals for professional services to develop a Downtown Special Event Transportation Management Plan for the Arena District area, with proposals due August 12, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. local time. Submissions are electronic via Bonfire at https://columbus.bonfirehub.com/login.

The scope requires a qualified consultant team to work with the City and area stakeholders to assess existing conditions across all modes of travel, parking inventory, and safety needs within the Arena District. The resulting plan will establish operational and communication strategies for ingress and egress during major events, with guidelines keyed to total attendance size and scenarios involving simultaneous activation of multiple venues. The deliverable will serve as a single resource for event management at the Arena District.

The selected consultant must attend a scope meeting anticipated approximately two weeks after proposals are due; the projected scope date will be specified in the RFP. If the project manager is unavailable, an alternate may attend in their place. Questions must be submitted to capitalprojects@columbus.gov by the deadline specified in the RFP; phone calls are not accepted. Responses will be posted as an addendum on Bonfire. No pre-proposal meeting will be held. All addenda will be posted on Bonfire and notice of published addenda will be posted on the City's Vendor Services website.
