About this opportunity
The County of San Mateo Parks Department is requesting proposals for sewer line replacement at the San Pedro Valley Shop facility, with proposals due July 2, 2026, and a mandatory pre-proposal meeting and site visit on June 25, 2026.
The County has adopted a Procurement Preference for Local Businesses Ordinance that may apply to this solicitation. The scope involves replacement of approximately 302 linear feet of existing 6-inch terra cotta sewer line with SDR 35 pipe and fittings to address sagging, standing effluent, and root intrusion that has degraded the line's carrying capacity to approximately 30 percent. Bid pricing must be all-inclusive, covering labor, materials, equipment, site protection, restoration, disposal, mobilization, and all other costs necessary to complete the work. The contractor must obtain all required permits, coordinate inspections, register with the Department of Industrial Relations, and manage site safety, work site security, and equipment.
The contract term is one year. The standard contract template for contracts under $200,000 applies, indicating the estimated value falls below that threshold. Minimum qualifications require four years of similar services within the last seven years and an account manager with two years of relevant experience within the last five years.
Evaluation weights are Project Approach (50 percent), Firm Qualifications (21.4 percent), and Price (28.6 percent). The pre-proposal meeting and site visit are scheduled for June 25, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at 710 Oddstad Blvd, Pacifica, CA 94044. Questions, comments, and contract exceptions are due June 29, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. Proposals must be submitted via the eProcurement portal. Contact Gregory Escoto at gescoto@smcgov.org for project questions and Travis Dunn at tdunn1@smcgov.org for procurement inquiries.
