The City will contract directly with Kompan for playground equipment installation; the contractor is responsible for site preparation including irrigation removal, sprinkler removal, stump removal, and level grading. The successful bidder must be a Florida-licensed general contractor and perform a minimum of 50% of the work with its own forces and equipment.
Contract time is 150 calendar days from Notice to Proceed for substantial completion, plus 15 calendar days for final completion. Liquidated damages are $500 per calendar day for delays beyond contract time. All materials and labor carry a one-year warranty from completion and acceptance.
Pricing must be submitted as all-inclusive lump sum and unit prices directly into BidNet and is firm for 120 days from bid opening. A bid bond equal to 5% of the total bid amount is required. The successful contractor must furnish performance and payment bonds each equal to 110% of the contract price from a surety maintaining an A– Financial Strength Rating and Financial Size Category 10 in Best's Key Rating Guide. Monthly payment is made with 5% retainage withheld until final acceptance. Questions are due July 7, 2026 at 5:00 PM. No pre-bid conference will be held. Award is contingent on City Council approval. The contractor is responsible for all permits, licenses, insurance, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including OSHA, ADA, and the Florida Building Code.
